15th November 2009 - Brandon AC
On a dry, sunny but cold morning 13 anglers from Brandon AC fished their 5 hour match on Ricky's Pool.


8th November 2009 - Perry Bar AC


It was a very wet and cold start to a slow match for the 14 anglers from Perry Bar AC. Fishing was good for some but the wind turned and grew in strength and the fish seemed to respond to this and moved to the swims at the far end of the Pool. Although the rain stopped by mid-day the cold was relentless and made the fishing uncomfortable, especially facing into the wind.


The winner of the match was S.Reynolds (above) with an impressive 60lb 8oz on the Pole with Corn, although is was mentioned, more than once, that he seemed to 'Foul-Hook' most of the fish but they all count in the end....K. Stevens was 2nd with 51lb 12oz and was also fishing the far end of the Pool (Next Peg). 3rd place went to W. Beresford with 40lb 8oz using Pellets.

Thanks to the anglers for using Parkers Fishery for their Match and we hope to see you all again in the New Year.

A nice individual Carp went to this angler.

25th October 2009 - Cotton AC

Weather conditions looked good for the 15 club anglers from Cotton AC on Ricky's Pool and from the 'All In', some  anglers were straight on the fish.

Unfortunatley this didn't last and the bites slowed up with the fish being slow to feed. The most succesful bait proved to be Pellet and Sue found the winning formula using the 'Feeder' for presentation from peg 20.
 
At the weigh-in Sue had produced 22lb 8oz with Mark P following up with 13lb from peg 24. Mike came third from peg 21 with 11lb 14oz and Mark E on peg 15 had 9lb 8oz.

18th October 2009 - Punch Bowl AC

On a Chilly October morning, Punch Bowl AC fished a 5 hour match on Ricky's Pool. The fishing proved difficult, even for the anglers that had fished the Pool before and out of the ten anglers in the match only four managed to catch.

We've reached the time of year where the order of the day is Winter Suits and warm drinks.....and hot food, all available from the on-site cafe 7 days a week.


Not dispirited by the chilly weather, everyone gave it their best shot and between them tried a variety of baits and tactics with the eventual winner, Colin, weighing in with 13lb 14oz from peg 20 using maggots.

His biggest single fish weighing just over 5lb.


Dave was 10lb behind with 3lb 8oz from peg 21 and Wayne on peg 16 came third with 12oz. The only other angler to catch was Dean with a single fish of 3oz from peg 23.

Broughton & Dunston AC


Once again, hats were the order of the day on Ricky's Pool when Broughton & Dunston AC fished their match, but this time it was to keep the SUN out of their eyes and not the rain off their heads. On a beautiful warm and sunny day, 21 anglers produced some good catches, with several over the 20lb+ mark.


Some of the anglers took the opportunity to make the most of the weather as well as the fishing(pic below)



Despite this, the fishing was good and at the weigh-in, Steve Reed had an impressive 60lb 8oz from peg 21. (pic below)



Mick Dayman was 2nd with 47lb 8oz from peg 25 and Jim Miiligan on peg 19, followed up with 37lb 8oz. Jim also took the biggest fish at 5lb.
The match started at 10am and finished at 4pm.

4th August 2009 - Rugby Disabled AC

On a blustery, wet and generally miserable August morning, Rugby Disabled AC descended on Ricky's Pool, 15 strong. Fishing proved tough with the difficult conditions but some excellent fishing brought a winning weight from Terry Aspland on peg 19 with 42lb 12oz. (Pic Below)

At the weigh-in at 3pm after a 5 hour match, 2nd place went to Ray Ayers on peg 12 with a respectable 25lb 8oz, followed by Dennis Whates with 20lb 4oz and Rob Taylor with 20lb. Peg 1 produced a surprise catch of a 3lb+ Barbel which rarely show.

2nd August 2009 - Bedworth Police AC
After a slow start on a bright but breezy day the second hour of the match saw most of the 15 anglers start to catch. Pole and Float and Method Feeder seemed to be the order of the day with no fishing showing to surface baits. It was the Carp that saved the day with the winning weight going to Mark Elton at 34lb 6oz. Aub Marston followed on with 22lb 4oz and Sue Elton produced a catch 20lb for third spot. Unusually for Ricky's Pool it did not produce consistantly and the last hour saw most of the anglers struggle.
